❝ Working with Karen, I felt my project was in the hands of a pro every step of the way. I think I only saw the tip of the iceberg when it comes to what she knows and what she can do.❞  — Becky Liebman, Good Noise

You're building something meaningful—whether it's a creative practice, wellness business, nonprofit mission, or second chapter venture.

Hi, I’m Karen! And I’m probably a lot like you. I’ve experienced all the joys and struggles that come with solo business ownership.

But I also spent over 15 years in the corporate trenches learning to be a marketing badass.

I managed marketing and communications for some major corporations (Grammarly, Macmillan Publishers, ID.me) and worked for an enterprise-level full-service marketing agency. Although corporate life was never my ideal fit, I learned a ton working with and leading amazing teams doing big things.

After a lay-off in early 2024, I realized I didn’t want to feed the corporate machine anymore. I launched Chanterelle Marketing Studio specifically to help solopreneurs and very small business owners who don't have big budgets reach their ideal clients and customers.

If you're looking for a collaborative partner who sees the big picture and the small details, you're in the right place.

What I Believe

A person with a backpack sitting on a rock by a lake, overlooking mountains on a cloudy day.
A person is holding a white mug with the words 'Believe in Yourself' written on it, with decorative elements. The person is wearing a white shirt and a black cardigan, sitting on a floral-patterned chair.
  • You don’t have to have those proverbial ducks lined up in neat rows. Start where you are and build with what you have.

  • Don’t scatter your energies. Focus on ideas and platforms that work for you and connect with your clients.

  • Your audience will know if you’re faking it. Being yourself is the best way to build trust, and trust is the best way to build a business.

  • You’re one person. Trying to do too much is the path to burnout. Go all-in on one or two channels — ideally places where your ideal clients spend time. Let the rest go.

  • You’re more than your training; you’re also your lived experiences. Honesty, and even a touch of vulnerability, is far more attractive than any slick sales pitch.
